VETERINARIANS
David E. Ellermann, DVM, Hospital Administrator
Dr. Ellermann obtained his DVM from Texas A&M University in 1972 and is a founding member of the Animal Emergency Clinic – Sugar Land. Dr. Ellermann has owned and operated his own day practice since 1975. Dr. Ellermann started his emergency training during his first job in Southeast Houston. This practice was a member of the first veternary emergency hospital in Houston. Since then he has worked numerous shifts for the Animal Emergency Clinic – Sugar Land as well as served on the board of directors for both the 610 Animal Emergency Clinic and AEC – Sugar Land. On Dr. Ellermann’s days off, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lee Andra, and working on his 1965 Mustang.

Jimmy Cox, DVM
Dr. Cox graduated form Auburn University in Alabama. Dr. Cox loves the great outdoors and spending time with his wife and 2 children
Diane Platts, DVM, MS
Dr. Platts attended the University of Massachusetts where she obtained by BS in Zoology. After a brief stint as a researcher at Tufts Medical School in immunology, she attended the University of Connecticut and obtained an MS in animal science. She moved to Texas to attend The Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in May, 2000. As a senior veterinary student, she won the award for excellence in feline medicine and surgery. Dr. Platts and her husband Steve have a beagle mix, Quincy, and a Maine Coon cat named Nikki. In her spare time she is a competitive ice skater and last year she and her partner, Anthony, won adult nationals in silver dance.
E. Sarmiento, DVM, PhD. Dip. ACLAM
Dr. Sarmiento received her degree from Texas A&M University she also holds a PhD in Microbiology, Masters Degree in Virology, and addition she is a Board-Certified Specialist in Laboratory Animal Medicine. Dr. Sarmiento loves to spend time with her husband Ron and go fishing.
